Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone | with David Levesley

In the first episode of this brand new podcast, hosts Che Lingo (rapper, musician, anime lover) and Bec Hill (comedian, writer, anime-curious), discuss the first film in the Rebuild of Evangelion franchise: Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone.

Che and Bec discuss their own relationships to anime and what they’re eager to learn more about, as well as the career of chief director Hideaki Anno and his formative time spent at Studio Ghibli. They are also joined by News and Features Editor at British GQ Online David Levesley, who explains why WandaVision, Annihilation and Pacific Rim wouldn’t exist without the Evangelion franchise.

Scarred by the Second Impact, the Fourth Angel attacks Tokyo III and humanity's fate is left in the hands of Special Government Agency Nerv. Young Shinji Ikari is forced to pilot EVA-01. He and EVA-00 pilot Rei Ayanami are tasked to fight, but EVA-01 is damaged by the Sixth Angel. Misato Katsuragi draws up a plan to focus all of Japan's electricity into EVA-01's positron cannon to defeat the Angel.

All four Evangelion films, including the much anticipated final chapter, are now streaming exclusively on Prime Video
