E21: ADHD support before, during and beyond university

October is Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) awareness month.

However, ADHD is a lifelong neurological disorder that poses continual challenges to attention, working memory, energy levels, cognition and behaviour to a reported 3.5-4% of the UK population all year around- including all students considering university!

To acknowledge this, Jon and Tim (diagnosed with ADHD as an adult) welcome podcast royalty and fellow member of the ADHD community, Professor James Brown (Co-founder of ADHDadultUK) to share his lived experiences on navigating university and higher education.

In this dedicated episode, Tim, James and Ishan (Cambridge graduate) cover many aspects of ADHD from their lived experiences:

-The definition of the disorder

-The symptoms and challenges ADHD poses

-Getting a diagnosis

-Support available at university

-Busting ADHD myths

-Identifying with ADHD and their acceptance of it

-How we all need to make a positive change and advocate for ADHD
