In The Cove- Special Edition

This month our podcast focuses on the decision by Facebook to ban news content in Australia.  This has impacted all news organisations in Australia, including In the Cove.

In the Cove may have started on Facebook but we are now a multi-platform organisation and you don’t need to access Facebook to read local news.  The best place to start is our website www.inthecove.com.au.

Our website has numerous articles that provide interesting and informative local information and you can search for information by using the search function on our website.

We are often told by readers that they no longer see In the Cove articles in their Facebook feed.  That is because Facebook decides what stories it places into your newsfeed based on what you’ve interacted with in the past and what’s popular with other users. This is the ‘algorithm’ you hear about that determines what goes ‘viral’ on Facebook.

This is why ITC encourages all readers to sign up to receive our news emails or visit www.inthecove.com.au regularly to check out our articles – you never know what you’re missing out on!

The Media Bargaining Code will not help independent publishers like In the Cove.  We are solely funded by local businesses.  We do not receive any government funding, grants or assistance.  In the Cove is a hyperlocal website run by a Lane Cove local for Lane Cove residents.  Thank you for your support.
