46. Panic Room + Room

these movies will make you long for the golden days of lockdown

In commiseration with Eliza, who is TRAPPED in a CRUEL government's nationally mandated quarantine system (actually an extremely comfy and manageable hotel stay), the gang locks the doors and settles in for a claustrophobic double feature. Or is that 'caustrophobic'?? whatever

David Fincher's potboiler 'Panic Room' and Lenny Abrahamson's novel adaptation 'Room' are both stories of motherhood in captivity, taking place over one tense night for the former and the entire process of imprisonment and escape for the latter. But like, did Jodie Foster and Kristen Stewart even need to go in that room? And does Brie Larson's Best Actress-winning performance as a kidnapped teen-turned-bitter-single-mom stand above the original novel's gimmick of seeing it all through a child's eyes?

One thing is certain - the whole team needs to be spending more time outdoors. maybe listen to this episode while out on a walk or something...don't let the walls close in ... :0
