Riotsville, USA + Sierra Pettengill | Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman | Norwegian Wood (2010)

On Truth & Movies this week, archival documentary Riotsville, USA tells the strange and disturbing story of the increased militarisation of the American police force in the 1960s, and the building of “Riotsvilles” to train police officers to violently suppress civil disorder, and director Sierra Pettengill talks to us about her film. We then review the animated Haruki Murakami adaptation Blind Willow, Sleeping Woman, before turning our attention to his earlier adaptation, Norwegian Wood, in Film Club.

Joining host Leila Latif are LWLies Editorial assistant Marian Ashioti and writer/broadcaster/programmer/former Truth & Movies host Michael Leader.
