Jasmine talks about foster care

Mandy and Kate chat with Jasmine from Fostering Connections for Victorian Foster Care Week! Jasmine is a foster care specialist who provides information, referral and advocacy services for people interested in undertaking the important work of being a foster carer.

Jasmine talks specifically about children with disabilities in foster care, including the different types of care provided, emotional and practical support options, equipment brokerage and NDIS case management. She also talks about the ongoing need for foster carers, and the subsequent training and accreditation process required, the different types of foster care families, payments and costs, plus the all-important process of matching the right carer to the child.
