The guys sample a classic from Jerry Thomas (or a saloon in Martinez, California) that might be (but probably isn't) the precursor to the Martini!
- 1.5oz/45ml London Dry Gin
- 1.5oz/45ml Sweet Red Vermouth
- 1 bar spoon Maraschino Liqueur
- 2 dashes Orange Bitters
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice cubes. Stir well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon zest.
