Boris Johnson has pledged that the sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned by 2035 – bringing the government target forward by a full five years. But on Tuesday sacked environment minister Claire O’Neil accused the Prime Minister of ‘not getting’ climate change. Can the government meet the ambitious goals outlined today? Iowa Caucus chaos

The Iowa Caucus is billed as one of the biggest events on the Democratic Party’s White House campaign trial. It’s the first indication of who they’ll put forward to run for President. But the vote descended into shambles - with complaints over a new system being used, app technology possibly failing, and phone hotlines being jammed.
