The Sounds of Goodwood Members Meeting 2023 with John Marcar, Miles Lacey & Tim Hutton
This week on The Driven Chat Podcast, John Marcar brings you The Sounds of Goodwood Members Meeting 2023 #MM80 and, with it, 21 fantastic conversations John, Tim and Miles had throughout the two-day event.
This week's guests in order of appearance:
ON SATURDAY, we speak to Racing driver Grant Williams, a previous podcast and Goodwood celebrity, thanks to his sideways antics in his Jaguar racing cars. Photographers Rob Overy, Nigel Harniman and Jake Boreham. Racing driver Alex Brundle, racing driver and television presenter Tiff Needell, and racing driver Mike Wilds famous for racing in F1, Saloon cars, Touring cars Le Mans and more. Motorcycle racer and previous podcast guest Maria Costello, journalist, racing driver and TV presenter Chris Harris, TV presenter and friend Nicki Sheilds, and Goodwood lap record holder Nick Padmore. I then found a good friend and, by chance, unfolded an amazing story with touring car driver Jake Hill.
ON SUNDAY, we talk to the man that has orchestrated the event and the Goodwood estate as we know it today, his grace, The Duke of Richmond, followed by BTCC legend and Le Mans racing driver Darren Turner. Miles and John then found racing driver Justin Law who, unbeknown to us, hadn't had the best race. We then found the MD of Praga Cars, Mark Harrison. We then bump into the racing driver, Goodwood celebrity and friend of the show James Wood before catching up with historic motorsport engineer Karim Demynn as he prepared to see his 1950s Ferrari 250 Testarossa compete. We round off the event by talking to Le Mans legend Andy Wallace, racing driver Stuart Morley and one last catch-up with Jake Hill following a saga that will no doubt be talked about for generations.
That's 21 conversations with 21 truly amazing people at one of my favourite events on the calendar. Let's dive into the event right from the moment I arrive alongside my friend Tim Hutton.
