Why is the trade market so quiet?

Frank and Jason are back with another fresh episode of The DFO Rundown as they sunk their teeth into the remarkably quiet trade market in the NHL.

The buyers and sellers are beginning to become more clear, but yet there isn’t anything happening in terms of actual moves. Frank explained why there hasn’t been a lot of activity and Gregor talked about a few teams that he thinks are destined to be sellers.

That eventually got them onto the topic of the Vegas Golden Knights and their run of injuries. Could Eichel or Stone actually be out for the year? Are the Golden Knights just playing salary cap games once again? The guys debated what could happen if the league thinks the Golden Knights are trying to manipulate the LTIR system once again.

Frank has some new names coming to his Trade Targets board including a former Golden Knight who could be heading towards a reunion with the club.

Tyler also swung by for a new edition of Buy or Sell where he asked the guys about Quinton Byfield, who would go first in a 2020 re-draft, how many players the Penguins could trade, and the goalie market.

2:12 - Matthews hits 50

4:10 - No trades in 3 weeks

10:30 - Golden Knight’s injuries

17:40 - New additions to the trade targets board

24:10 - Buy or Sell
