Kerryn Fields - folk singer, magician, empress

Kerryn Fields is a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Aotearoa New Zealand, now living on our shores. She won the Music Victoria Best Folk Work award in 2022 for her second album, Water, which followed acclaim for her first album, Rascal. In recent months she's released two singles with Matt Joe Gow, ahead of an album release.

Fields's latest solo release is the EP The Folk Singer, which she released around the time she travelled to the USA to perform at Folk Alliance. The EP features all new tracks and was recorded live and acoustic. It documents Fields's path through life, and great difficulties, to become the magical, majestic artist she is today - and if you've ever seen her play live you'll know what I mean. In our recent interview she spoke movingly about the stories behind the songs on the EP and gave great insights into the artist she has become.
