Ibrahim Maalouf

International superstar and Grammy Award nominated French-Lebanese trumpeter, composer, producer, and arranger Ibrahim Maalouf's music traverses genres and pushes creative boundaries. He reminisces about his earliest lessons with his prominent father, the trumpeter Nassim Maalouf, unpacks their complicated relationship, and shares the dramatic moment his life as a classical music virtuoso came to a close. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, Ibrahim also speaks about the lack of acceptance he faces among the styles of music he commands and how that shapes his musical ethos. He reveals why Quincy Jones eating sushi was a good sign and talks about the power of music.
