Today on Sounds Of Brass.I Feature the The Brass Band 13 Etoiles European Champions 2024.Founded in 1973, Brass Band Treize Etoiles is comprised of musicians chosen from the best village bands in Valais (Southern Switzerland) and is divided into two different bands : the A and the B-Band. I'm Rob Collinson and I'm a composer/arranger based in County Durham. This week I'm featuring Portishead Town Band this week, and contributions from others including Ferryhill Town Band.Although I'm entering my fiftieth year as a "bander" my work isn't exclusively for brass bands. Each hour-long show will have "featured" and "guest" bands, with the occasional "showcase" thrown into the mix.
