Interview with Dr Eugene Hickland

Dr Eugene Hickland is an Assistant Professor of Employee Relations and Human Resource Management at Dublin City University Business School.

Eugene’s research interests include; workplace innovations, industrial democracy, employee voice, trade union organisations and employment regulation.

We caught up with Eugene to discuss issues such as how trade unions responded to the financial crisis; what characterises different forms of capitalism; the cut in the minimum wage and its reversal; democracy; JLCs; and how businesses can benefit from engaging with trade unions.
