EP48: Lucia DeRespinis - Dunkin' Donuts Logo Designer

This weeks special guest is industrial and graphic designer Lucia DeRespinis. Lucia is one of the most accomplished individuals in the world of industrial design but struck unexpected gold when she created the iconic logo for Dunkin’ Donuts. Her work in industrial design is displayed at MOMA here in NYC and she is currently a professor at Brooklyn’s prestigious Pratt Institute.


In this interview she invited me to her Manhattan apartment to chat about her early life, attending Pratt in 1949 as the first female to graduate in industrial design, the makings of that famous Dunkin Donuts logo, we have a conversation of the heart about life, race, and the world we live in.
