EP40: Mary Wood l The silent giant behind Pepsi and 7UP.

This week’s silent giant is music entrepreneur, singer, songwriter and producer Mary Wood. Mary is the founder of Frisbee a company that specializes in writing for TV commercials, movie scoring and brand consulting.


Mary has written, performed or produced some of the most recognizable TV jingles for brands like Pepsi, 7UP, and many others. Her work as a musical TV giant led her write songs for A-list artists like Aretha Franklin, Britney Spears, Jordan Sparks, Isaac Hayes, Kiss, Faith Hill, Jessica Simpson, The Spice Girls and countless others.


In this interview I stopped by her TribeCa studio to chat about her upbringing in New Hampshire, how she got into music, moving to NYC, getting into commercial advertising, writing ‘The Joy of Pepsi’ jingle, being in the studio with Aretha Franklin, founding her company Frisbie and a whole lot more.
