Greta Haywood - Founder, Haywood Solicitors

Greta's story is so empowering. You will love her! After growing up in Melbourne as the youngest of five, with an artist mother who is a strong, bohemian role model, and a German father who was a journalist. Greta tells the story of how she got expelled from her first day of primary school - an indication of her strong rebellious nature! Soon after, the family moved to Germany where Greta stayed until she was 17. At that stage, she decided to become a dancer (having watched West Side Story for inspiration) and she moved to England to pursue her goals. That led to her living in a squat in London in the Thatcher era, with punks and all sorts of misfits, which was one of the happiest times of her life.

After returning to Australia, and as she has always had a strong social conscience and feminist nature, Greta did a bit of journalism and politics and then moved into law. With her strong desire to help others, particularly women in family violence situations, Greta talks about her experience of working with female prisoners and patients in hospitals and how she helped them. These days, Greta is determined to help women who are going through a divorce, and I can only say that she is exactly the type of lawyer you would want to work with if you are going through a situation like this. You will be so inspired by this story!
