Quick Tip - What's an Annual General Meeting?

An AGM is an opportunity for regular shareholders like you and me to hold directors to account. Fiona Balzer works tirelessly organising the volunteer company monitors of the Australian Shareholders' Association.

ASA has a dedicated team of company monitors who meet with company chairs and directors to discuss issues of importance to retail shareholders. ASA monitors prepare voting intentions, having regard to ASA's Voting and engagement guidelines, and they attend AGMs on behalf of members and retail shareholders.

I have another podcast called AGM Watch that covers the work of these monitors. You can have a listen to see what's covered in an AGM https://www.australianshareholders.com.au/podcasts
