Brent Pella

Laughter is medicine, releasing endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin with every giggle. Today’s guest is stand-up comic Brent Pella, and he believes comedic value goes beyond its science-backed medicinal purposes and has the power to not only entertain but to educate. With roughly 100 million views across all platforms, Brent is known for his performances on MTV, Funny or Die, BroBible, Worldstar HipHop and more. In this episode, you’ll hear about Brent’s inspiration behind his high-energy skits, original character concepts and how he finds material.

This coronavirus pandemic has changed the world drastically, and so has comedy. Today you’ll find out how this year has been a major turning point in Brent’s career, and how his ideas of the world have shifted so drastically. As a writer and performer, Brent points out the ironies and hypocritical ideologies of the current world in an effort to challenge paradigms and the way people think. We also take time to explore censorship, how he has been affected by it, and why freedom of speech is so important, especially in today’s society. To hear about Brent’s thoughts on politics, his fear of bees, and why being liked by everyone is an unachievable goal, be sure to tune in to this episode.
