Ep. 214 - Billy Boyd

Billy Boyd is best know for playing the hobbit Pippin Took in The Lord of the Rings, Peter Jackson's epic trilogy. He also played Barret Bonden in the film Master and Commander with Russel Crowe, and Gerald Forbes in the huge time travel adventure, Outlander. Billy started his acting career at St Andrews Rep and the Traverse theatre, before appearing in Taggart, the films Urban Ghost Story, Dorothy and the Witches of Oz, and The Hobbit; The Battle of the Five Armies, among others, and the tv productions Empty, Moby Dick, Snowfall, Gran’s Anatomy, Hollywood, in which he portrayed Noel Coward, Doom Patrol and NCIS Hawaii. Billy fronts the band Beecake the VisitScotlasnd winner of Best Live Act at the Tartan Clef Music Awards. He wrote and performed "The Last Goodbye", which was played over the ending credits of the movie The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies He co-host The Friendship Onion podcast with his friend Dominic Monaghan, who played Merrie alongside him in Lord of the Rings.
