Aston Villa Fall to Their Two Worst Enemies...VAR & Themselves

It would have been easier for Aston Villa to have won the game against West Ham considering how many chances they created, a missed penalty, and a shockingly bad VAR decision that chalked off their late equaliser. It's four losses out of their last five now.

With Villa's clash with Newcastle now called off due to COVID-19, Dean Smith now has plenty of time to think about what has been going wrong in recent weeks, from careless defending to poor finishing. The fundamentals of defensive organisation and fluid attacking are there, but careless moments are costing them big points.

The show looks at the main issues - from the zonal marking to an under par John McGinn, from Trezequet's misfiring to a lack of genuine options for attacking change in-game.

We also look at 'that' VAR decision and provide insights to the recent Villa Fan Consultation Meeting that discussed the return of fans back to Villa Park.

Elsewhere, we look at Manchester United's recent cyber attack, Barcelona pay decreases, Maradona's passing (aged 60) and Alan Pardew's new job.

(Underrated or overrated will return in the next show).
