Todd Kohlhepp was convicted of murdering seven people in South Carolina between 2003 and 2016.

This is a case which broke after the MWM podcast started and one we've followed very closely when it was a missing persons case. 

Kala Brown and Charlie “David” Carver had gone missing on August 31, 2016. As the family searched for them, Charlie’s Facebook page became active. Posing as David, Kohlhepp posted messages in response to questions by both families. 

Police were able to trace the phone being used to post the messages but they were unprepared for what they found.
