Josh Raz perfectly combines two opposing methods of creating a painting.  The figurative lures in the eye of the viewer, only to be diverted by the abstract.  Never allowing the eye to rest, it is lead through a collage of brushstrokes left by the artist, generating a visual sense of uncertainty.

That ‘visual sense of uncertainty’ is found among other works in Beyond Borders, a group show at Unit London that “Seeks to demonstrate that the expression of contrasting attitudes is not necessarily a cause for conflict”.
