A lesson in resilience Deborah Somorin

Homeless at 13, pregnant by 14 there were many obstacles preventing Deborah Somorin from succeeding but she knew her way out of living in chaos was a good education. So soon after giving birth to her son Liam she sat the Junior Cert, she gained access to third level via the DCU access course and not only completed an undergrad in accounting and finance but a masters as well. Today she is an assistant manager at PWC Irelands' largest professional services firm, she also set up and runs non profit organisation Empower the family which is helping single parents and children secure accomodation and childcare so they can continue their education.
