Since it opened it's doors in 1831 Dublin Zoo has been beloved by generations of Irish people. This year they celebrate their 190th anniversary. Catherine Du Coercy historian and author who has written numerous publications on the Zoo's history told Sinéad about the Zoo's humble beginnings, the many challenges they faced from famine times to the present pandemic. Catherine shared great memories of the Zoo and gave more insight into the rumour surrounding the MGM lion's connection to Dublin Zoo.
