Schools across Mungret staged a lunchtime protest over the granting of a licence to Irish Cement to burn solid recovered waste and used tyres at its plant in the area.
The Evironmental Protection Agency have granted a licence to the firm for its €10 million euro plans, which would see it switch from burning fossil fuels.
The deadline for objections to be submitted against Irish Cement's plans is October 15th.
