Barrister and legal commentator Francis Hoar kicks off todays show to discuss the new chief inspector of constabulary recent statement that police forces are “not the thought police” and must focus on driving down crime given that charge rates are at their lowest in more than 30 years. Former Police Officer Harry Miller comes on shortly after to praise the chief inspectors recent comments and also discusses the lifting of restrictions on police stop and search powers. Mail on Sunday columnist Peter Hitchens returns to The Independent Republic and Head of Regulatory Affairs at the IEA Victoria Hewson closes the show to discuss the latest surrounding the Northern Ireland protocol.
