Dr Leyla Hussein: Love Never Hurts

Dr. Leyla Hussein is a Bafta nominated presented, a Psychotherapist, and an internationally Celebrated Activist campaigning to end Female Genital Mutilation. Leyla is an FGM survivor- who in her own words “is trying to live her bravest life”.


In this series we are exploring the vast and different ways in which human beings experience, and live “with” their experiences of grief and loss, which of course are not just limited to death and bereavement.  


Leyla is a leading global voice, breaking centuries of silence on the unique type of grief that millions of women and girls all over the world live with every day, as survivors of FGM. Today, more than 200 Million girls and women worldwide have experienced FGM

Every 11 seconds a girl undergoes FGM. 3 Million girls are at risk of it every year.
