The Importance of End-Of-Life Planning with Jennifer O’Brien

Do you and your family members have a plan for what steps to take when one of you passes away?

In this episode together, I am joined by the wonderful Jennifer O’Brien. After her husband Bob passed away - who was a Palliative Care and Hospice physician - Jennifer published The Hospice Doctor’s Widow: A Journal, a book which details her journey going through grief from when Bob was diagnosed with metastatic cancer to when he passed away. The Hospice Doctor’s Widow: A Journal is an art journal that reads like you are talking with your best friend. The book has won a Nautilus silver award in the Death & Dying/Grief & Loss category, a Next Gen Indie Book gold for Relationships, an Independent Publishers (IPPY) bronze for Gift, and an International Impact Award for its Interior Design.

Throughout this episode, Jennifer shares with me what she has learned about grief and end-of-life planning through her late husband’s work in hospice and her personal experience of losing her husband. You will learn about her book, The Hospice Doctor’s Widow: A Journal, and how she is helping people to have more open conversations about death, grief, and end-of-life planning.
