Geektown Radio 178: 'Crazy Rich Asians' Editor Myron Kerstein, UK TV News & Air Dates!

Apologies for the lateness of the Geektown Radio podcast this week, but we are finally live and packed full of tv news, film news and UK tv premiere date information. We also have an exclusive interview with Myron Kerstein, editor of the smash-hit film 'Crazy Rich Asians'.

Myron Kerstein is an editor for tv and film who has worked on projects such as ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Girls’, ‘House of Lies’, ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ and ‘Fame’. He’s also been Zach Braff’s go-to editor for his movies ‘Garden State’, ‘Wish I Was Here’ and ‘Going in Style’.

His latest project has been the smash hit movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ with director Jon M. Chu, which follows native New Yorker Rachel Chu (Constance Wu) as she accompanies her longtime boyfriend, Nick Young (Henry Golding), to his best friend’s wedding in Singapore. Nick has neglected to mention that he not only comes from one of the country’s wealthiest families but also one of its most sought-after bachelors, and Nick’s mother (Michelle Yeoh) is not impressed with his choice of partner. The cast also includes Jimmy O. Yang (‘Silicon Valley’), comedian Ronny Chieng (‘The Daily Show’), Harry Shum Jr. (‘Glee’), Lisa Lu (‘2012’) and ‘Humans’ star, Gemma Chan.

In the interview, we discuss working on the film, and with the director Jon M. Chu. We also talk about the pain of figuring out what to cut from the movie, working an editor for film vs. working on tv, and his career in general.
