Geektown Radio 168: ‘The Americans’ & ‘Sneaky Pete’ Composer Nathan Barr, UK TV News & Air Dates!

Welcome back to another episode of the Geektown Radio podcast. On the show this week we have all the latest UK TV news, air date information, and a great interview with returning guest, composer Nathan Barr.

Emmy-nominated composer Nathan Barr makes his third appearance on the show and is always a delight to chat with. He has received critical acclaim for his unmatched versatility, incorporating eclectic instruments from music cultures around the world, and has worked a huge array of tv and film projects. He recently completed scoring the multi-award-winning series ‘The Americans’ starring Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, for which he received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. He also composes AMC’s multi-generational epic ‘The Son’, starring Pierce Brosnan, and Amazon’s brilliant con man drama ‘Sneaky Pete’. His previous work includes the emmy-winning and fan-favorite series, ‘True Blood’ and Netflix’s ‘Hemlock Grove’, for which Nathan earned his second Emmy nomination for the main title theme.

His latest project sees him setting the musical tone for 'Carnival Row', Amazon's upcoming fantasy drama series. It's described as a fantasy-noir set in a neo-Victorian city in which mythical creatures fleeing their war-torn homeland have gathered, and tensions are simmering between citizens and the growing immigrant population. At the centre of the drama is the investigation into a string of unsolved murders, which are eating away at whatever uneasy peace still exists. The cast includes Cara Delevingne & Orlando Bloom and is due to come to Amazon Prime in 2019.
