What 2021 has in store for advisers

In the first episode of 2021, FTAdviser digital editor Damian Fantato is joined by reporters Imogen Tew, Rachel Mortimer, Chloe Cheung and Amy Austin to discuss what the upcoming year might have in store for financial advisers.

First Damian and Imogen discuss property funds and the impact the Financial Conduct Authority's new rules might have, as well as continuing M&A activity in the platform space and an outlook for the year ahead.

Then Rachel considers whether the coronavirus pandemic has had an impact on M&A in the advice market and what the FCA is likely to focus on during 2021.

Chloe and Damian then discuss the upcoming end of the stamp duty holiday and its impact on the mortgage market, in particular on the availability of high loan-to-value deals.

Finally Amy asks whether 2021 will finally be the year we see changes in pension tax, and explains why the coronavirus has had an impact on the Sipp and Ssas market, and considers whether that will continue into the coming year.
