What the mini Budget fallout means for portfolios

After a rollercoaster week in gilt markets following last Friday's mini Budget, FTAdviser deputy editor Damian Fantato is joined by Oliver Jones, asset allocation strategist at Rathbones, and Robert White, portfolio manager at Momentum Global investors to discuss the fallout.

Gilt yields surged and the pound plummeted after the government announced a spate of tax cuts - though they recovered later in the week after the Bank of England was forced to intervene to calm markets.

They discuss the implications the events of the past week might have on asset allocations and whether investors should be making any changes as a result.

After this, they discuss some of the broader trends around the world economy and why it's not just in the UK where things are looking troublesome at the moment. They also touch on the use of bonds and alternatives in a portfolio.

The FTAdviser Podcast is the podcast for financial advisers, brought to you by FTAdviser. Each week, FTAdviser is joined by guests from the industry to discuss the week in news and pressing industry issues.
