Petrodollars fail to ease Basra's water crisis

Iraq’s second city Basra sits on top of some of the world’s biggest oil reserves that fuel the country’s economy. But life in the city serves as a warning for how rapidly ordinary people can pay the environmental price for mismanagement even as the petrodollars flow in.
