The heart of a Ukrainian Mother - Tetyana Maryshko

On the week of International Women’s day we honour the women, the mothers of Ukraine whose hearts are breaking.

There is no easy way to discuss war - and so this episode comes with a strong content warning.

Tetyana Maryshko has lived in Ireland for the last 20 years - making this her family's home but in this moving episode we talk about her homeland Ukraine which at the time of recording is on Day 7 of the military invasion by Russia.

We talk about her Ukraine, its heritage and talent and beauty and life.

We talk about the moment she learned that the war had begun.

We talk about the support she has received from the Irish people.

And as we see the war unfold we see the footage of the newborns, of children, of families and we talk about the resounding courage, strength, resilience and roar of her country - and the hearts of the mothers of Ukraine.
