First we chat about being black in a very white affluent part of Dallas, Texas and hiding in the world of sports. Blakely describes not being able to add the drama of being gay to the already difficult process of navigating his way through racism. He also chats about having to bite his lip amongst very open homophobia in the world of College Football. We chat about finally coming out quite late in his life and how that has been for him. We finish the chat discussing race in America after 4 years of Trump.
