This is Coronavirus 411, the latest COVID-19 info… Just the facts… for Thursday March 26th, 2020. 

New York State has over 33,000 cases of COVID-19, making it the 6th highest case count in the world. Falling behind Germany and ahead of Iran.  With a unanimous vote, The Senate passed the 2 Trillion-dollar stimulus bill. The House votes Friday on the largest emergency aid package in U.S. history. The Trump administration plans to get checks to taxpayers within 3 weeks of when it is signed in to law. The fatality rate in the U.S. is rising dramatically, there were 233 deaths yesterday. As we pass 1,000 total fatalities and cases in the U.S. pass 69,000. Louisiana has the fastest growth of new cases in the world, relays the New York Times. The Governor of Louisiana said current case growth was comparable to Spain and Italy. California’s cases are doubling every three to four days, according to their top health official.  In Alaska, anyone arriving to the state, must self-quarantine for 14 days. Tesla will open their Buffalo NY factory to make ventilators, according to founder Elon Musk. A Holland America cruise ship reports 77 cases of COVID-19 on board. The ship’s departure was on March 7th, prior to the suspension of operations. 

Australia has ordered two cruise ships out of their waters and will quarantine passengers from a third reports The Washington Post. Russia saw a big increase in cases and in return Moscow has closed all non-essential businesses for a week. Iraq has extended their curfew and lockdown. As cases in Japan spike, a government Coronavirus task force has been set up. India has announced a 22.6-billion-dollar relief package. Over half a million UK residents have volunteered to support the National Health Service.
