Off Book: The Improvised Musical, Teacher's Pet and Unregistered With Thaddeus Russell
This episode runs the gamut from wacky spontaneous musical fun, to true crime intrigue and a hub for dangerous ideas. First up as always listen to the verdict on the podcasts the Castologists presented the week before, then get stuck into our new recommendations. This week Zane shows his musical loving side with Off Book: The Improvised Musical, Liz presents a cultural touchstone podcast in Teacher's Pet, and Patrick looks at all the ideas you're not meant to talk about through Unregistered With Thaddeus Russell.
Liz Recommends - Teacher's Pet
If you haven't yet listened to Teacher's Pet, you're missing out on a huge, Australia-wide watercooler conversation moment. The podcast, by The Australian reporter Headly Thomas investigates the disappearance of Lyn Dawson in the 1970s, the ever changing stories and shady dealings of her husband Chris Dawson, and a pattern of systematic abuse in high schools. Unmissable for true crime lovers and those who want to get in on the story as it's unfolding.
For both: All of it. Everything. Until forever.
Pat Recommends - Unregistered with Thaddeus Russell
I first heard Thaddeus on my favourite podcast Tangentially Speaking. Since then I've seen him appear on a number of other places and spaces. He's a professor history, American studies, diplomacy and world affairs. He also isn't afraid to have dangerous or disagreeable conversations, which is what I like about this podcast. These are often one on one conversations with other interesting folks.
For Zane & Liz: The choice is yours, use your powers wisely.
Zane Recommends - Off Book: The Improvised Musical
Before Zane was a podcast mogul, he was a musical theatre fanatic! And this week he is bringing you a a taste of that obsession with Off Book. On Off Book: The Improvised Musical, you get a brand new original musical every week! Each episode, Jessica McKenna, Zach Reino and a special guest create a new musical on the spot. Off Book is accompanied by the incomparable Scott Passarella (King of Pianists, Pianist of Kings.) And every week is a totally different show.
For Pat: Everything is Prozactly What I Need
For Liz: Sham Wowowow
