The EU may refuse to renew our nitrates derogation after the 2021 Review, if the drop in water quality is not reversed. Teagasc is amongst the organisations collaborating with farmers to restore rivers to full health after a marked worsening of some waterways due to a number of factors, not just agricultural activity.
