Welcome to episode 15 of Buddy’s Buddies! A VERY special edition at that - this is part 1 of the ‘Margate Voices’ series, which is a collabo between myself and the Margate Mercury!
Lucy, the editor of Margate Mercury had an idea of a way to combine forces, whereby the format of the podcast would be the same as always but the guests would be in a somewhat different vein to usual. In this case, she had an idea of connecting me with this guy called Cyril - she gave me a few key details which sounded so fascinating, and we had a brief meet to see about fixing a time to record, and BOOM - the rest was mine, and now YOURS to find out!
So what follows is a lovely chat which I was lucky to be a part of, detailing Cyril’s crazy journey from his life in Zambia (living in a town called ‘Broken Hill’ aka Kabwe), to his mechanic leanings and then to his journey to Margate, on a flight with a few quid in his pocket… The rest is yours to uncover, and I don’t want to give you all the details because it’s so much more rewarding to find out for yourself now isn’t it?!
