Ep - 39B - a first hand account of life as a woman in Afghanistan

In this second part of Episode 39, Jo Stanley and Shelley Ware have an in depth conversation with Afghan/ Australian Shamsiya Hussainpoor, a Journalism student living in Melbourne. Shamsiya and her family arrived as refugees when she was 9.

She shares her family's experience of sending her brother off as a 9 year old into the unknown to ensure he couldn't be recruited by the Taliban, why her family fled, the difficulties faced by remaining family members and friends still in Afghanistan with the Taliban regaining power and also ideas of how we can help women still there.

It's a powerful conversation.
