Ep 327: An Inspiring Way To Lead Change with Alexandra Adams and Jo Loughran

This weeks guest is the Incredible Alexandra Adams who is the UK's first deaf blind medical student, she shares her experience of medical school and the reaction she has had from fellow students and colleagues.

Hear Alex's story of what inspired her to want to be a doctor, and the journey that she has been on with her own medical issues that have given her a wealth of life experience and wisdom on life and death, Alex is truly inspiring.

As mental health awareness becomes ever more ingrained into our society a recent study shows that people living with mental health issues such as schizophrenia are experiencing increased discrimination.

Jo Loughran from the campaign Time to Change is in the studio to explain why, and what needs to be done to share the acceptance of all mental health issues, not just depression and anxiety.

Time to change is aiming to change the way we think about mental health, as Jo explains this has to start with the media and their depiction of the types of mental health that are commonly discussed.
