Ep.31 Katie Piper/FaceValue3 - Mizog Art Podcast

In this episode Gary Mansfield talks to Katie Piper (@katiepiper_)

Katie Piper is a British TV presenter that was attacked in 2007, by a stranger who threw acid into her face as she walked to work. This attack left her blind in one eye and horrific scarring on her face and chest; she has undergone more than 100 operations to date.

This experience made her want to help others that have been left with similar burns and scars. Katie founded The Katie Piper Foundation, a charity that helps other survivors with their new identities. Gary also talks of FaceValue3/Dirty Work, an annual exhibition that he curates with the help of many of the UK’s finest artists – an exhibition that confronts identity changed by the hands of another. FaceValue3/Dirty Work is showing at Jealous East from 18-28 April and at Jealous North from 1-26 May 2019. All proceeds going to The Katie Piper Foundation.
